· Ethical Dilemma Scenario
Ethical behavior is governed by personal, legal, social, and moral standards that tend to help a person to choose between right and wrong. However, in some cases the line between rights and wrong may be too thin leading to a dilemma (Morrow, 2008). The situation presented in the scenario is a form of ethical dilemma. By working in a violence-prevention program where the violent people are kids implies that one must strive to protect them. The goal is to help them out of youth violence while at the same time protecting their interests. However, if they share information that could affect the community, one may be faced with a dilemma of whether they should protect the kids from being arrested or protect the community by reporting to the police.
In this scenario, I would give the police the information given to me by the kids in the violence prevention program if I have reason to believe that they are about to harm the community. For instance, if I know of their plan to carry out a crime that will harm people, I will tell the police in order to protect the victims. However, if the information given to me does not harm the community but harms the kids when given to the police, I would refrain from getting involved. For the program to be effective the kids need to feel like they can trust the people they are working with. Therefore, telling the police all information they tell can jeopardize the program. Even though making a report may seem like the morally right thing to do, one must look at the overall consequence of the action. Telling on the kids will make the program fail; hence, increasing the rate of violence in the community. This is why the best decision is to gain the trust of the kids I the program.

Systems and Professional Intergrity
The ethical code that we have used for years and in different situations carries various consequences. Therefore, in this situation of gaining trust from a sub-group the response would be different than in a typical Ethical environment. In a community where the main focus is gaining trust from a group that values trust and loyalty above any other trait, the ethical code is different. If I was accepted into that culture and now considered a trust worthy member I would not betray that even if it was for the sake of a crime. The main point is I have chosen to risk my life on a daily basis to interact with people of this community and then choose to betray them would be Ethical suicide. My ethical code would not want to put my friends and/or family in jeopardy. The main reason for starting this community based organization would be to show the kids of that area a different way of life and that they can live a life other than what they may have known.

So, the rules or code of ethics vary depending on the audience if I was running a Christian School the code would be different than that in the current scenic.It does not make it right or wrong it is simply following the code that has already been established. I love the phrase ” a new normal” which in this scenario can be viewed as a new normal and I understand can be difficult if one is accustomed to Black and White situations.
