04 Jul 4 Pages Research Paper About Theaters
This is a 4-5 page research paper to be written on any topic related to live theatre.
Your topic must be approved by instructor. One person per topic.
The completed paper is Due Mid-Term Week, on Thursday, March 1st.
Parameters:
The paper needs to be researched as thoroughly as possible on whatever topic you choose. After thoroughly researching your topic, you need to then write a 4 to 5 page paper telling me the facts about your topic. This paper should be written using only the facts on the topic. THIS IS NOT AN OPINION PAPER. Make sure your paper is well written, that it flows well and is not choppy.
You should also keep in mind, that if you choose to do your paper on the topic of a major stage musical (i.e. RENT, Into The Woods, CHICAGO, The Phantom of the Opera, etc.) or Broadway play (i.e. Proof, Angels In America, Madame Butterfly, etc.) that you should write your paper about the stage version of that production and NOT the movie version. Likewise if you choose one particular actor or director to write your paper about you should focus on their work in live theatre and NOT their work in film. I don’t mind a mention of their work in film but it should be minimal.
I urge you also to remember that while this is to be a paper recounting the facts on your topic, it should also be written I your own words. DO NOT COPY AND PASTE SOMEONE ELSE’S WORK AND PASS IT OFF AS YOUR OWN. That is called plagiarism and is a very serious offense that can lead to disciplinary action as severe as dismissal from the university.
Late papers will lose twenty (20) points per day late
Research:
You must have at least four (4) sources of research, only two (2) of which can be websites. This means you should not have three (3+) or more websites as sources of research because that exceeds the maximum of two internet sources allowed. If you wish to have more than two (2) print sources of research that is fine.
