Purpose:
The purpose of this activity is to explore sites that you are unfamiliar with, rather than to review sites you use all the time.
Instructions:
For this assignment, you will need to review five websites in total.Choose three websites from the following list below:

• Zarro Center for Learning Enrichment (Links to an external site.)
• National Secondary Transition Technical Assistance Center, Student Focused Planning (Links to an external site.)

Next, find at least two websites using an Internet search. To search for sites, use Internet search engines most often used by educators (Yahoo, Google, Alta Vista, Hotbot, etc.) and search for sites related to self-determination and self-advocacy.
Guidelines:
To successfully complete this assignment, you must complete a report of your search and website reviews. Your report must include:
1. Adescription of the topics of self-determination and self-advocacy, how you implemented the Internet search (e.g., which search engines you used, etc.), problems associated with your search and selection of websites, other options you used to find websites, and how you decided upon the five sites for your review.
2. For each website, you should include:
• A description of each website: You should describe the overall purpose and some of the various pages, tools, and resources available. Your description should demonstrate that you have spent time navigating the site and viewing any embedded videos.
• Reflections on the usefulness of these sites for providing you with information about the topic as well as how the information and sites apply more directly to your program and/or community. Consider the following questions in your reflection: Who is the appropriate audience for this website? Would you share this with your students? Their families? Your colleagues? How could the information you see here impact your practice?
