Writing Assignment 3: The Recommendation Request

For this assignment, you will review forms for letters of inquiry or requests in the text. The purpose of this assignment is to provide a format that you can use to seek a letter of recommendation from one of your professors or employers. For those of you just starting to build a career portfolio or dossier, this will give you an opportunity to seek those important letters of recommendation!!!!  KSU offers a form that students are supposed to use, but the personal approach just might be more effective!

Submit this assignment to the drop box Writing Assignment 3 by Sunday night.

1. Identify 3 individuals (real life people, including your professors)  you would like to provide a recommendation for you. Tell: a)why you chose each one and b) how you think they will help you in presenting yourself as an awesome employee.
2. For each of the people you chose, identify at least 3 things you would like them to say about you…be specific, and don’t be too modest. For example: “I earned a grade of A and was always on time with my work and to class.”
3. Write a letter!  Write a letter (formal block style) in which you request a letter of recommendation from one of the individuals named. See the models in your text, or do some Google searching for examples and ideas.

Because of our time crunch, you will not write a response for this assignment

Please submit the assignment as one document…just skip spaces…as opposed to submitting it in separate parts.
