Creating and Graph a Visitors List Worksheet

Purpose: To demonstrate the ability to plan and build a worksheet.

Problem: You have decided gather information about how many different types of animals are treated in the clinic in which you work in.by quarter

Instructions:

1. Use the techniques learned to create a worksheet that includes the data provided in Table E2-1.

2. Bold and center the title across cells A1:E1.

3. Calculate the Grand Totals

4. Look for the Total number of visitors for the present quarter

5. Format the table.

· You decide how to format.

· Find and use appropriate fonts and colors to present a well formatted table

6. Include a 3D cluster column chart that shows the Total number of Visitors per month

7. Move the chart underneath the table.

8. Enter your name below the chart in column A. In the cells directly below your name, enter your course identification, Excel Practical 1, the assignment date, and your instructor’s name.

9. Rename the worksheet to Visitors

10. Color the tab GREEN

11. Save the workbook as Yourname_P1, where Yourname is your own name.

12. Change the Document Properties and add TAGS (Use a minimum of 3, separated by commas)

Charting

You and three of her friends came up with the idea of starting a travel agency for college students.

As sales continue to grow, you have realized that you need a better tracking system for first quarter sales. As a result, you are to prepare a first quarter sales worksheet that shows the sales for the first quarter.

In addition, you want to create 2 graphs showing the first quarter sales (a pie graph showing the most effective sales method and a bar graph showing the most popular vacation packages).

Instructions:

1. Enter the title at A1: Spring Break 1st Quarter Sales

2. Save your workbook as yourname_P2

3. Copy the following table into a new worksheet with Row Titles beginning at B2

6. Change the Font, Font Size and Color of your Title

a. Size 36

b. Font: Baskerville Old Face

c. Color: Green

7. Center the Title across cells A1:F1

8. Change the font of Cells B2:F7

a. Font: Verdana

b. Size: 14pt

9. Place a Thick Line Border on Cells A7:F7

10. Format Row 3 and Row 7 with Currency Format

11. Format the remaining rows with the Comma format.

12. Center the Row Title in B2:F2

13. Format the rest of the table to your liking.

14. Rename the sheet tab, Spring Break and color the tab blue

15. Create a 3-D Pie Chart with the Sales Method and the Totals for each

16. ADD DATA LABELS to the chart

a. It should show the Totals

17. Move the Graph underneath the Table

18. Enter your name, Course ID, Date and Instructor Name underneath the chart

19. Create a BAR GRAPH with the Totals of each Vacation place

20. Move the graph to a new Worksheet

a. Title this worksheet Destinations

b. Color the Tab red

21. Complete the Document Properties and add TAGS (use a minimum of 3, separated by commas)
