Guidelines for Networking Assignments
Objective:
· To build your ‘rolodex’ of contacts to help you launch a business or to simply be more entrepreneurial in whatever professional role you take on.
Requirements:
· Attend two off-campus, professional networking events throughout the semester. Your focus should be on entrepreneurship, social media/networking, meeting potential investors or partners, technology, etc. NOT CORPORATE. NO RECRUITING EVENTS, ETC.
· Potential resources:

An Entrepreneurship event at another university (NYU, Fairleigh Dickinson, Baruch,
Columbia, Pace)
Charlie O’Donnell’s blog for list of NYC events (www.thisisgoingtobebig.com)

Deliverable:
· One 2-3 page paper per event. Your paper should indicate the event you attended, location, date, etc. Summarize the purpose of event, why you chose this particular event, describe the crowd/vibe, and highlight the 4-5 most relevant contacts you made. What did you discuss? How is this connected to entrepreneurship/innovation? Did anything surprise you? Was it a good experience? BE PURPOSEFUL! GIVE ME DETAILS.
· Attach a copy of business cards and verification that you attended the event.
· Submit on Slack as a DM to Prof J.
· Networking Assignment #1 due 3/6. Networking Assignment #2 due 4/6.
