1. Consider the piping network shown below. Use the Hardy Cross Method (either by hand, or using Excel),
computing head losses with Hazen-Williams, to determine all the pipe flows and the total energy head at each

3. Repeat your analysis of problem 2 using EPANET (set to use the Darcy-Weisbach head loss formula) and assuming that the pipes are made of general concrete, unlined ductile iron, new unlined steel, and PVC. Does
your analysis reveal any significant differences between the two methods? Comment on what might be
causing these differences. Which approach would you recommend? Why?
