· Ensure that all work has been proof-read and checked prior to submission.

· Ensure that the layout of your documents are in a professional format with font style Arial, font size 12 for the text, font 14 for sub heading and font 16 for main heading, line spacing 1.5 and justified.

· Use the Harvard referencing system and provide references [e.g. (Smith, 2011)] within the text and an entry in a references list. Otherwise, it will be considered as plagiarised work.

· Ensure that you back-up your work regularly and apply version control to your documents.

· Ensure that any file you upload is virus-free, not corrupted and not protected by a password, otherwise they will be treated as a non-submission.

Assessment Scenario (Individual Work):


Zebra IT Services Ltd is a UK based IT Services company that specializes in high level IT Services and Networking IT Systems to SMEs and Medium Enterprises. They have their Headquarters in London and due to recent business growth, they have recently acquired two new Regional Offices; one in Cardiff, Wales and another in Belfast, Northern Ireland.Zebra IT Services Ltd is a Networking business forward looking company as they always aim to provide State-of-the-art Networking Services for all parts of their business, so it is essential that a reliable 21st century network infrastructure is provided.

The CEO of the company travels regularly between the three branches and would like to use his Laptop, Tablet and Smartphone on the network in every branch to access the Intranet as well as the Internet SECURELY and Wirelessly. This also applies to the Director of HR who is located in the London Office; the Director of Finance who is located in the Cardiff Office; and the Director of IT Services who is located in Belfast. They would also like to use VoIP to make cheap telephone calls.

You have recently been employed as Zebra IT Service Ltd’s IT Network Engineer and they want you to plan, design, build and install their network infrastructure environment to incorporate their current HQ in London as well as their newly established Regional Offices in Cardiff and Belfast. Your network should support wireless as well as VoIP for cheap calls.

You are required to plan the project and produce a report, considering available technologies for each of the areas below. Your report should show recommendations on purchasing a suitable system and connecting the equipment together using appropriate networking technologies. On top of your report, you should create a Network Solution/Application using CISCO Packet Tracer to show how the network will look like. Your solution should include your judgment on the following areas:
