Bostrom talks about the various super intelligent entities that could exist. There can be a speed super intelligence which performs tasks faster than an ordinary human. A collective super intelligence is made up of smaller intellects and can perform tasks that can be broken up and completed in parallel adeptly. A quality super intelligence will be able to perform tasks, the ordinary human beings cannot in practice. Digital intelligences moreover, owing to their better hardware and software will be free of the restraints placed on the ordinary human skulls. Ordinarily, we rely on intuition to make our judgements. Technology is overtaking the other businesses and if companies like Google and Apple and their rapidly growing market valuations are any evidence, such technology and software companies are poised to take over the industry largely in the coming years.
