How do mutations in the nontranscribed and untranslated region, or do they not affect them at all because they are so far upstream? Or do they affect transcription and/ or translation?
Whether or not a mutation in the CFTR gene cause CF depends on the location of mutation, the type of mutation, and the inheritance of the mutation?
