Read the attached Research Review article published in Nature in January, 2012. “The Amazon Basin in transition” summarizes the intricate and complex interactions that occur in ecosystems, specifically the tropical rainforest (notice figure 1, which illustrates such interactions). After reading the article, select one of the following issues to address: drought (seasonal and multi-year or extreme), deforestation, fire, or disturbance effects on greenhouse gases. Review the list of core concepts in the course information tab before answering the following questions.
