13 Jun WHAT DID I LEARN ABOUT PROBLEM SOLVING/DECISION MAKING IN HANDLING TECHNICAL ISSUES?

Paragraph One: Technical Work and Technical Learning 1. What were my tasks and projects for this week? Describe the new technical skills I learned in the internship workplace. What did I learn? What problems did I encounter? How did I handle them? How would I have handled it differently?

Answer for Paragraph one: Answer for Paragraph one: This week was my fifth week in my internship, this week I kept working on Patient Portal, this is an application within eClinicalworks that allows patient to view their medical records, such as medical notes, labs, immunizations, request appointments and referral and more. Basically I was this week I had the opportunity to web enable the patients once they gave the consent, I assign a user name and password to them so they can have access to their medical chart. Some of the problems I encounter was that patient that was given User ID and Password was having issues logging from the house, it was report it to I reported to my supervisor and we call eclininicalworks vendar for them to investigate the problem, the issues was resolved. One thing that I have learned at school, is critical thinking, evaluate the scenario to help to come up with better solutions. I also got to put in practice of what I learned the week before about Patient Portal, I got to practice from the setting options, customization and default windows within the Patient Portal. These gave the opportunity to trouble shoot any issues we had with Patient portal. I have learned about problem solving, you have to evaluate the situation to help you make a decision. Paragraph Two: Business and Soft Skills 5. What new soft skills did I learn this week? (Examples, communication, working in a team, interpersonal relationship, punctuality, initiative, resourcefulness, attitude, leadership, etc.)

Answer for Paragraph Two: 5.This week I kept working working with Patient Portal, this is an interface within eClinicalworks that allows patient to keep up to date we their health information, I was assigning user name and password to them so they can logging from anywhere at any time. Also this gave me the opportunity to build my communication skills because I was dealing with Patients at all-time recruit them in patient portal. 6. Urban Health Plan have been a great example for other Health Centers, they not only do great improving continuity of care, but also have improve the use of the electronic health records, such as documentation, reports and more, and this great things are done because not only they communicate with their staff orally of any changes but also they send emails and memos to keep up to date their staff of any changes. 7. Communicating. 8. I learn about myself that I really wants to be involve everything that have to do with the electronic health records, and because of this I feel my strength in this field, weakness in the beginning sometimes I feel nervous to talk in front of people, but once I start talking I can calm myself down, but I think this is natural for any one. I becoming more comfortable talking in public and with the people. Paragraph Three: The Organization in the Internship Workplace 10. Did I attend an office meeting? These week I was communicating with my supervisor in regards to any issues about patient portal. 11. Every day I get to meet a lot of different staff that do make the organization workflow run smoothly every day, I’m glad to meet these people because you really learn a lot from them, they are the one that are familiar with the structure of the organization, I’m very pleased 12. I think I will be learning a lot at Urban Health Plan, this organization always ahead with eClinicalworks software, this will give me the opportunity to strength my skill and apply at my job. Paragraph Four: Any additional comments and observation Working at a health care setting for eighteen years, I have heard great things about Urban Health Plan, always questions myself how they do it, now that I have the opportunity because of my internship, I have experience the reasons of the great success, and one of the most important factor they have with their staff is communication.
