EVALUATE ETHICAL DILEMMAS IN ORGANIZATIONS AND PROPOSE VIABLE SOLUTIONS AND LEADERSHIP

Students are required to write a brief analysis of an ethical perspective or theory. Students may

choose the topic/ perspective they wish to use in this paper but not using it in the final paper. The

paper should analyze both sides of the issue/perspective and the student must take a position,

supported with reasoned arguments. Papers should represent the student’s best effort in academic

writing, using traditional academic style according to the APA style guide. This type of paper is

usually about six to 15 pages in length, including a cover page (double spaced, Times New Roman

12).

Assignment # 2 ( Drug , Abuse and treatment)

Prepare a paper that will discuss the application of ethics

in the public sector. Discuss the feature that you are identifying, its elements, history, impacts,

dimensions, and challenges supported by an ethical model or theory. A useful guideline

(recommendations) for your paper is the following. These are only suggestions. You can

construct your paper with complete autonomy as long as it is logical, addresses an ethical model

and investigates its application (or lack of):

1. Distinguish various ethical models for decision making in a public sector setting (conceptual,

philosophical, legal, political, organizational and professional). A useful way to do so is by

identifying, describing and applying the various ethical models for decision making in the

public sector setting and demonstrating exceptional ability in identifying the various ethical

models and offers accurate definitions, application and justification for their use in the

analysis and resolution of ethical dilemmas in the public sector setting.

2. Articulate the differences between personal and public ethics. A useful way to do so is by

describing the differences between personal and public ethics and accurately describing and

clearly differentiates personal and public ethics.

3. Evaluate the applicability and effectiveness of various public sector codes of ethics and

demonstrate the ability to understand and implement codes of ethics. A useful way to do so is

by exhibiting proficient and well-justified selection, definition and application of appropriate

codes of ethics to public sector settings.

4. Relate ethical issues confronted by administrators in the public sector at the individual and

organizational levels, with special emphasis on the importance of integrity, professionalism,

diversity, and social responsibility. A useful way to do so is by analyzing ethical concepts in

cultivating integrity, professionalism, diversity and social responsibility for the individual

and within an organizational climate, and thoroughly and accurately selecting and making

appropriate application of ethical concepts in cultivating the noted values for an individual

and within an organizational climate.

5. Evaluate ethical dilemmas in organizations and propose viable solutions and leadership

strategies to foster an ethical climate. A useful way to do so is by analyzing an ethical case

study and using rational analysis model while providing viable solutions and leadership

strategies to foster an ethical climate and provide a well-formulated, complete and articulated

analysis of each step of the model process in addressing ethical dilemmas, fully articulating

viable solutions and leadership strategies.

The paper must be typed,

double-spaced, Time New Roman, 12 font and pages between 15 and 20 in length, with cover page

and list of references that follows APA. Accordingly, your paper must include the following features:

 Topic

 Introduction that includes problem statement

 Ethical Theories or models related to your issue/ topic

 An analysis of the ethical dilemma and its implications

 Solutions and recommendations
