The paper must present an analysis of quantitative data to answer a simple research question. Two or
three variables should be chosen as dependent variables. The analysis must identify the relation between
these two or three dependent variables and other variables, which will be considered as independent variables (for example: gender, social class and education). To help it should answer the following
questions:
1) What is the hypothesis?
2) What are the independent variables?
3) What are the dependent variables?
4) Identify the relation between these two or three dependent variables and other variables?
5) What is the relationship between the independent and dependent variables?
The paper should contain three parts: Introduction, Result and Discussion and in each part the following should be included:
Part (1): Introduction:
Outlines the research question. It should explain why the two dependent variables have been chosen and
what should be their relations with the independent variables. These expected results should be
formulated as clear hypotheses.
Part (2): Results:
Should be divided in three subparts:
1) The first subpart describes the chosen variables with univariate statistics and with at least one graphical representation.
2) The second subpart tests the hypotheses with bivariate statistics.
3) The third subpart tests the hypotheses with two multiple regression models (one for each of the dependent variable).
Note: The model should be linear if the dependent variable is quantitative, logistic if the dependent variable if qualitative.
Part (3): Discussion:
Should interpret the results. It does not present any new result. It discusses to what extent the results
answer or do not answer the research question and it should propose further investigations.
