Of utmost importance will be the focus and clarity of your writing (elaboration and sense of argumentation), the mechanics of the paper (spelling and grammar), and the use of Turabian style from start (title page) to finish (bibliography). Although the theological contribution is less important at this point, your paper should demonstrate your current ability to think biblically and theologically, and engage scholarly ideas in a critical manner.

To prepare for this assignment, review the Turabian Style Guide, Turabian Template, and Turabian Tutorial, located in the Student Success Center. The Turabian Tutorial will walk you through how to use the Turabian Template, which you will use to write this paper. The Turabian Style Guide will provide writing and citation guidelines.

After considering the feedback provided by your instructor on the thesis and outline from Topic 2, write a research paper of 1,000-1,250 words to include the following:

1. A title page.
2. An initial paragraph that creatively introduces the topic and contains a clear purpose statement for the paper.
3. Each paragraph in the body of the paper should develop the thesis and advance your argument in a clear and logical manner. Do not go off on tangents that stray from the defined topic. Remember, you can address interesting but nonessential information that relates to your topic by including explanatory comments in your footnotes.
4. The paper should include the following elements: page numbers, footnotes, and blocked text for quotations of five or more lines.
5. The paper should include at least two paraphrased sentences, two partial direct quotations, two direct quotations in blocked text format, 10 footnotes, and two footnotes with explanatory comments, all formatted using correct Turabian style.
6. A bibliography.
