Social media is one of the fastest growing areas in marketing. Experts affirm the importance of a strong social media presence in building an organization’s reputation and customer base. The “Big Three” social media networks are: Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Other growing social media platforms and services include Flickr, Pinterest, Instagram, and Yelp, among others.

According to Jacquelyn Smith at Forbes.com, two of the fastest growing careers from 2014 through 2020 are market research analysts and marketing specialists, second in growth only to software developers. As cited in Smith’s (2012) article, “According to the BLS, these professionals “study market conditions in local, regional, or national areas to examine potential sales of a product or service” (para. 9). They also help companies understand and identify the products people want, who will buy them, and at what price. Additionally, the BLS notes that top research positions often require a master’s degree. This profession is expected to grow by 41 percent between 2010 and 2020.

This week, we will address technology by way of Big Data, Cloud Computing, and Social Media. Your assignment will be to provide recommendations to a busy executive.

3. Cloud Computing

a. Briefly define cloud computing and how businesses use it.

b. Provide two recommendations on how Cameron’s Coffee can use Cloud Computing.

c. Explain how each recommendation will resolve any issues and fulfill Cameron’s Coffee’s needs.
