I. Provide a brief summary of the content of the Gospel in an annotated outline format. (1 page)
II. Provide detailed information concerning special emphases, issues/concerns, omissions or additions of the Gospel (Redaction/Literary criticism). Explain the particular emphases of the Gospel writer in shaping the major themes throughout his book. At the end of this section, the reader should grasp the uniqueness of the authors perspective and major themes that recur throughout Mark. (4 pages)
III. Students must demonstrate detailed interaction with scholars in resources such as commentaries, NT introductions, journals, and any exegetical studies as necessary. If there is a unique emphasis, difficult issue or controversy surrounding this Gospel, you must explain the issue and develop a response according to your interaction with the gospel account and that of the biblical scholars. IV. Students must seek to apply the evangelical principles gleaned from their research for daily application. If there is a principle or principles we can apply, then specifically state the biblical principle and particular applications for today. (2 pages)
