Read the case material and familiarize yourself with more recent information on AWS. Then, prepare a 1-page case summary, which provide an outline of the key issues and key decisions faced by the management. Answer the following questions:
Question 1. Prepare a detailed timeline for the key events that lead to the startup of AWS, its growth, and current size.
Question 2. Amazon, along with other companies, saw an opportunity to “rent” part of their infrastructure to small firms. Explain the services Amazon offered. Relate each Amazon service to one or more concepts from your Messerschmitt or Lauden and Lauden text. Be very specific and use the correct terminology in your answers.
Question 3. Around 2007 or 2008, many analysts were skeptical of AWS’s possibility of success. Compare this to a recent analyst report located here,
