Learning Objectives: After completing the term paper, you will be able to: demonstrate in-depth historical knowledge about the topic you have chosen; use the internet and electronic databases to locate primary sources; * use traditional print secondary sources to locate primary sources; locate the main argument(s) of and critically analyze a secondary source (your selected journal articles and optional monograph); integrate other scholars’ ideas into your own paper without plagiarizing; analyze and interpret primary sources using the concepts and theories covered in class and assigned readings; effectively organize your ideas and research in an academic essay of 8-15 pp. with proper source citation; revise effectively based on peer and professor review of draft writing. DUE DATES: Your first draft should be a second draft really. It should be as polished and complete as possible. In this way, you will receive better, more constructive and useful feedback. Minimum length: eight pages. Maximum length: 15 pages (excluding bibliography and title page) Use 12 pt. font, double-spaced with page numbers and a title page.
