It would be good for you to read Romans 1-8 in conjunction with our study of Leviticus in order to gain a greater understanding of the work of the Law in Leviticus. These laws are burdensome and taxing for the children of Israel not because of the Law itself, or because of God as the Law-Giver, but because of the sin of humanity in general and the sin of Israel in particular.
The Law in Leviticus establishes important boundaries that make Israel aware of sin and the process of cleansing/forgiveness from sin (grace). It is obedience to this process (faith) that maintained the relationship between Israel and their God.
