DESCRIBE THE SAMPLING STRATEGY FOR YOUR RESEARCH PROPOSAL.

DESCRIBE THE SAMPLING STRATEGY FOR YOUR RESEARCH PROPOSAL.

Sampling

For this Application, you will build upon the sampling strategy you described in your Discussion Assignment. You will compute the sample size and run a power analysis on your sampling strategy for your research proposal.

To prepare for this Application:

Review Chapter 8 in the Frankfort-Nachmias and Nachmias book.

Review the sampling strategy for your research proposal as you described in this week’s Discussion Assignment.

Review the Sheperis media in this week’s Learning Resources to learn how to run a power analysis using G*Power.

The assignment:

Compose a 1- to 3-page paper in which you do the following:

Describe the sampling strategy for your research proposal.

For each strategy that you did not choose, state why that one is not appropriate for your research questions, hypotheses, and variables.

Run a G*Power analysis to determine the appropriate sample size. http://www.gpower.hhu.de/

Support your work with references to the literature.

Description of Research Question
Research questions provide attention and direction for researchers in the research and writing process (creswell,2000). Research questions in quantitative studies, are inquiries about the relationships among Independent and dependent variables, the understanding of which the researcher seeks (Creswell, 2009). In the research, question, process, questions, data collected by the researcher provide the direction and tone of the paper (Trochim, 2006). Moreover, whenever quantitative research is involved, the association, correlation and relationship among various variables is sought (Creswell, 2009). My research proposal zeroes in on the observed increase in the incidence of sexually transmitted infections, specifically the human papillomavirus (HPV) among 15 to 24 year olds. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2013). The goal of my research question is to understand the relationship between independent variable which is political beliefs and the implementation of HPV vaccination programs in middle schools and high schools and dependent variable is Political beliefs and attitudes are not preventing HPV vaccination programs in middle schools and high schools.
(what is the IV? DV? Independent variable and dependent variable
Vaccines designed to prevent HPV along with constant communication aimed at vulnerable groups are widely available (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2013). Despite these preventive campaigns and measures however, STI incidence has grown((Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC],2013). says who? You can’t make this claim without backing it up. The research would indicate which factors contributed to such increase. The question that will direct the course of this proposal is as follows: Do political beliefs or attitudes prevent HPV vaccination programs in middle schools and high schools? In relation to the question, the following hypotheses have been developed to further understand the research problem
Alternative hypothesis: Independent variable is Political beliefs and attitudes prevent HPV vaccination programs in middle schools and high schools.
Null hypothesis: Dependent variable is Political beliefs and attitudes do not prevent HPV vaccination programs in middle schools and high schools.
Appropriateness of Internet and Survey Research to Proposed Design
A survey is the means employed to gather or collect data in the research process to quantify thoughts, attitudes, and opinions (Trochim, 2006). Surveys can be categorized in two ways, questionnaires and interviews (Trochim, 2006). Questionnaires are surveys in written form, conveyed through mail, electronically or through the regular mode.. Survey questionnaires can also be conducted through the internet, (Ahern, 2005). In contrast, interviews, may be done personally or through a telephone call (Frankfort-Nachmias & Nachmias, 2008). Questionnaires and personal interviews mechanisms once proved to be very valuable in data collection. In the internet age however, these survey proved to be inefficient and archaic.
A survey conducted via regular mail is less likely to deliver a diverse sampling population, and a high response rate (Ahem,2005).says who? How do you know this? Where did you get this knowledge from? . Accordingly, if speed in the gathering of responses is vital in research completion, then a mail survey is not a viable alternative. (Frankfort-Nachmias & Nachmias, 2008). In instances wherein expense is limited, coupled with a geographically dispersed sampling population, the conduct of personal interviews may not be deemed appropriate. In contrast, when anonymity of interviewees, cost and time are to be factored, , the internet may prove to be a feasible survey tool(Ahen,2005). Surveys conducted through the internet increase the number of participants, notwithstanding minimal cost and significantly quicker response times. (Ahern, 2005). All of these surveying tools however, are applicable in cross-sectional designs. In my research proposal, I am able to utilize survey tools such as Surveymonkey.com and Surveygizmo.com in the conduct of conduct cross-sectional surveys
Appropriate Research Design For Research Question
The selection of a research design largely depends on the goals and the corresponding research question that has to be answered (Ridenour, Newman, and DeMarco 2003). In choosing the most appropriate research design, the validity and practicality of research design must also be considered (Ridenour, Newman, and DeMarco 2003).Since my research proposal aims to unravel the relationship between political beliefs and the implementation of HPV vaccination programs in middle schools and high schools, I deem it appropriate to conduct my proposed study in a natural and real-life social setting. Survey questionnaires will be utilized in my study. Meanwhile, controlled variables would not be needed. Taking into account all these factors, a cross-sectional design will most appropriate. The research question between independent variable which is political beliefs and the implementation of HPV vaccination programs in middle schools and high schools and dependent variable is political beliefs and attitudes are not preventing HPV vaccination programs in middle schools and high schools.
yes, but what is the Independent variablV and DependentVariable? Can’t tell based on what you wrote. I can guess, but I don’t know for sure.
