Financial Statement

PART 1:

1.  A brief overview of the company you have selected

1. Type of business–manufacturing, retail, service, not for profit, etc.

2. Size of the organization—estimated annual revenue, number of employees, organizational structure, global, domestic, etc.

3. Background of the company–what they do, location, how long have they been in business, who is their competition, etc.

2. Prepare budgeted financial statements (balance sheet and income statement) for the business you have identified in part 1.

1. Be sure your numbers and account titles are based on the company you selected.  For example, if you select a retail business you would have items such as sales, wages, rent, etc. If you select a hospital you would have patient income, medical supplies, etc.

PART 2:

0. Based on your research Identify the key elements of your company were you would like to evaluate and measure performance.

0. Create a computer-based analysis. For example, if you select a hospital you may want to know the average cost per patient per day or what is your return on investment.

0. Discuss how the analysis you created will improve performance of the company you have selected.

0. Discuss internal controls that need to be put in place to ensure proper financial reporting.

· Include a separate cover page and a separate page(s) for references Be sure to review the grading rubric carefully to ensure you have met all of the writing requirements.

· Create and upload presentation summarizing the major elements of your project submitted in week 7.   Post to at least 3 other students with questions or comments on their projects and be prepared to answer any questions from your classmates on your own project.
