The purpose of this letter is to introduce myself to you as your partner for project 2. My name is XXXXX, an interior architecture design student at XXXX. My Objective in business writing is to be able to write in different rhetorical situation and explore business writing genres. This will be my last writing preparation course before I write in reality rhetorical situation; therefore, I hope I will be able to develop my writing skill and know how to utilize it correctly.
Two years ago, I finished my G.E classes from XXXX College in the bay area and transfer to XXXXX university. My writing experience start at English as second language reading and writing class. My experience in ESL writing classes help me to understand and practice writing rules. I took UWP 018 style in writing which we explore unique style of writing in design process, project introduction and portfolio writing. I think writing is hard. Like Sylvia said, “Writing is hard. If you don’t think it is hard, you are not doing it right.” Indeed, writing requires many consideration and thinking while you are generating your writing.
My advantage in writing is organization and attentiveness on details. On the other hand, we often use mind map in design process to create many keywords to get inspiration. I think mind map will be a my advantage to help brainstorm ideas in writing process. I focus on making rhetorical choices on details like white space and length of paragraph that help to organize your writing. As an English as second language learner, grammar is my biggest barrier or weakness. In the future assignment, I would like to contribute my strength in critical thinking, organize and mind map ideas.
In my spare time, I like to go Ikea, home depot and other home decor shops. I would like to know what is new in the market, and I would explore different combinations inside of the shop. In writing, I also like to explore possibilities and ideas to generate writing. As a design major student, I am usually doing research, making presentation model and recording design process. My advantage are patience, attentiveness on details, problem-solving and strong time management skills. I believe my advantages will help me in future writing assignments in positive way. My short-term goal is to gain experience in construction management and connect with interpersonal relations in the industry. My long-term goal is become an architect and work on large scale projects. The key toward successful career is communication. One of the key element in communication is writing.
I don’t appreciate procrastinate and last-minutes work. My work style is detail oriented and well time management as a team. I hope we could build up the assignment slowly and carefully.
