Introduction to Public Administration
Each week, you will be asked to respond to the prompt or prompts in the discussion forum. Your initial post should be 75-150 words in length, and is due on Sunday. By Tuesday, you should respond to two additional posts from your peers. If you have not done so lately, please review the Rules of Discussion.
For your follow up post…review the responses provided by your peers. Engage in conversation, or even civil debate, as you discuss their insights and viewpoints. You may ask questions for clarification (if you are confused by their initial post) or pose questions that advance the conversation. You might even find a topic that leads you to further research in the area!
Please respond to BOTH of the following discussion questions and submit your responses as a single post.
Question A
Tell us about yourself so you can meet and greet other fellow Grantham University students within your course. Include what you believe to be your current knowledge level of this course topic and what you hope to learn before the course is over.
Question B
Define public administration in your own words and explain the subject matter. Indicate your prior knowledge of public administration and what you wish to gain from this class. Cite at least one source, which may be your textbook.
In your follow up posts respond to two other students, stating what you learned from your peer’s post and elaborating on their initial explanation of public administration.

This week we reviewed an introduction to public administration, including democracy and bureaucratic power.
Based on this week’s topics, find a relevant, recent and credible news piece (article or video). Suggested sites on which to find credible news include The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, or NPR, just to name a few. Provide a summary of the piece and identify aspects of the story that relate to public administration, bureaucracy and democracy. Be sure to include a link or attachment of your news piece and cite your source.
In your follow up posts, respond to two other students stating what you learned from their post and ask a question related to the post. The goal is to have a discussion that advances our knowledge on this topic.
