I. Working Title: Assess the level of women awareness about osteoporosis in Saudi Arabia Program of Al_Ghad International Colleges for Health SciencesII. Osteoporosis is commonly considered as thinning of the bones moreover it has been consistently defined as a systemic skeletal disease characterized by low bone mass and micro architectural deterioration of bone tissue with a consequent increase in bone fragility and susceptibility to fracture.osteoprosis can be classified as primary or secondary . primary osteoporosis can be further defined as type 1 or 2. type 1, postmenopausal osteoporosis , is associated with increased cortical and cancellous bone loss resulting from increased bone resorption , typically occurring during the first 3 to 6 years after menopause, type 2, senile osteoporosis, occurs in both women and men 75 years of age and older.secondary osteoporosis results from use of various medications or the presence of particular disease states and this type of osteoporosis can occur at any age.There are many risk factors that can contribute to osteoporosis include aging, being female, low bodyweight, smoking. Lifestyle changes that help to stay healthy in general can also help protect from developing osteoporosis, this include: limiting alcohol, not smoking cigarettes, eating foods with plenty of calcium and vitamin D (including dairy product, kale, broccoli, canned salmon, and sardines),regular weight bearing exercise such as walking, dancing, or climbing stairs . The purpose of this study were to determine knowledge of osteoporosis in middle aged and elderly Saudi women.2. Objectives:The study will answer the following research objectives1. To assess selected demographic profile of the respondents2. To assess the level of women awareness about on osteoporosis.3. To describe the correlation between demographic profile of the respondents and there level of awareness of osteoporosis.3 .MethodologyThe study is descriptive-correlational survey method. A well structured questionnaire tool will be utilized to gather data. Participants will be selected using probability random sampling techniques and descriptive and inferential statistics will be used for data analysis.Descriptive correlational survey is an observational design conducted to demonstrate associations between the study variables.Assess the level of women awareness about osteoporosis in Saudi Arabia in its short form will beUsed to address the main objectives of the study. It includes interview questionnaire comprise of 7- questions were employees can answer by themselves and Likert scale . This standard questionnaire will assess both intrinsic and extrinsic factors on job satisfaction on a 3-point with responses varying from 1 (no) , 2 (maybe),3 (yes).Stratified random sampling will be used to identify the accessible population for the study. Saudi women from alqateef comunitiy including nursing, Total number of the population will be identified through the Saudi women and adequateness of the participants from middle to elderly age will be ensured it well be approximately (55) . Saudi womn will serve as the locale of the study.Descriptive and Inferential statistics will be used such as frequency and percentage, weighted mean, chi-square and regression analysis to analyze findings.The proposal will be submitted to the research superior and will be subjected for review. The researchers will be informed if they can pursue the study. Once permission was granted the researchers can conduct distribution of questionnaires and interview the selected participants.I.
