GOALS:
*To evaluate through the rhetorical mode of comparison/contrast analysis, the quality and content of argument in two articles;
*To develop skills in writing analytical paragraphs, blending in secondary sources to support the writer’s analysis;
*To unify secondary sources in supporting an original thesis by using the point-by-point method of organization;
*To practice proper documentation methods.
The rhetorical mode of comparison and/or contrast is a common one that you might find extremely useful in crafting your final research paper as well as completing this preliminary assignment. To practice this skill, the required paragraphs will be quite directed.
