There are two parts to this assignment. Part 2: Training and Performance Monitoring Overview

Part 2 is a description of material related to your virtual and in-person training and performance monitoring plan. Each section is detailed below.

Audience
State selected audience to train and provide a rationale for selecting that audience.
Select one of the following audiences for training: caregivers, school staff, behavior intervention staff (center, community, or home-based program).
Justify why this audience is the highest priority for training in your case.

Performance Monitoring
Briefly summarize your plan to monitor performance related to treatment implementation after the virtual and in-person training is complete.
Consider and adhere to the current BACB Ethics Codes and Capella Compassion Code when choosing how you will provide feedback, extra trainings, and so forth.

My case study is Connor who is a seven year old boy diagnosed with developmental disabilities. Connor engages in target behavior of self-injurious behavior SIB. SIB is defined as Connor sliding down the stairs without holding on inside his home from the second floor to the first floor. Operationally defined: Connor sliding down the stairs without holding on can be identified by instances in which Connor moves his body close to the stairs inside the home on the 2nd floor, lays down on his back or front, and lets his body slide down without holding on to rails, walls, or steps until he reaches the bottom of the stairs. Whenever Connor engages in the target behavior of sliding down the stairs, he is in danger of self-injuries caused by the fall at the bottom of the stairs, or even getting stuck in the railing. Assessment results confirm Connor’s function for the SIB is escape. The intervention strategies I plan to use include:
1- Priming as an antecedent strategy in order to help Connor transition into demand situations without engaging in SIB.
2- The replacement behavior will be functional communication to request breaks, taught through functional communication training for Connor to escape demands without engaging in SIB.
3- As a consequent strategy, continuous positive reinforcement will be used with a token economy visualized on a stickers chart. Tokens will be earned by Connor for every instance he requests a break from a chore or completes a chore; every instance he makes his bed; every instance he picks up a toy in his room. This system will allow Connor to be reinforced for appropriate behavior while working towards bigger rewards such as time on his I-pad.
