CHATTANOOGA METROPOLITAN AIRPORT

CHATTANOOGA METROPOLITAN AIRPORT

You have been asked by the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport to help solve a problem. Many fliers out of the Chattanooga airport have complained that they are arriving late to their destinations. They have provided all of the flight data from 2015 and have asked you to create a linear regression model. The main purpose of this model is to describe the factors influencing the late arrivals, not prediction. While the regression model should serve as the basis for your analysis, please feel free to include any other statistics and graphics that help CHA understand when and why flights are arriving late.

This project is the culmination of all we have learned this semester. Feel free to pull in anything we’ve worked on to help solve this business need.

Grading criteria

This project deliverable should demonstrate a mastery of general linear regression. You should be able to show how you created your model and then validated it. Be able to communicate any uncertainty inherent in the simple linear regression model. Further, this project ties together all we have learned this semester. So concepts such as EDA (Exploratory Data Analysis), hypothesis testing and interpretation of p-values is expected.

The MS Excel appendix is easy to understand.
The Excel file is exceedingly difficult to understand.
0points
The Excel file has all of the necessary components, but are not laid out clearly and there are no comments or text.
1points
The Excel file is fairly well organized and has some labels and comments.
2points
The Excel file is incredibly easy to consume, well organized, and clearly labeled and commented.

2points
The graph is complete, correct, and beautiful.
3points
The excel file calculates the Durbin-Watson test statistic and confirms no autocorrelation.
The test statistic was not calculated.
0points
There is a major issue with either the test statistic’s calculation or its impact on model development.
2points
There is a minor issue with either the test statistic’s calculation or its impact on model development.
4points
The test statistic was calculated correctly and prove that there is no autocorrelation.
