Background
It is Final Exam time at colleges across the country. Your assignment is to create an interesting package about final exams. This should be fairly easy since you currently reside in a college environment. The story should not be a simple following of a student taking his or her final exams. Your job is to find the hook, or angle, that will make your story interesting. You should do each component in order and upload all your components either as you go along or all at once. All components of this assignment should be uploaded to Blackboard by May 13.
Component 1 – Research
1) You should research final exams at college across the country and not just Bryant. You should look up articles or any written materials that will help you find an interesting angle about final exams. I am leaving this open. It is up to you to engage me. You should upload any research you have done in the form of a summary and/or links.
Component 2 – The Hook
2) Once you have done your research, you should write a sentence that explains your hook, or angle, very simply. You should upload your hook, or angle. (It is only one sentence but it is an important sentence)
Component 3 – The Interview
1) You should interview someone either on or off Bryant’s campus who will support the angle of your story. You should record that person using your phone camera. You should only be asking that person two or three questions at the most. Remember, we are only looking for a quick sound bite to add dimension to your story. I do not care if the footage is not perfect. I am looking for the questions you ask. If you get good looking footage, I will add in a bonus in grading the final project. You should upload your interview footage.
Component 4 – The Story
1) You should write your Voice Over from the beginning sentence that draws me into the story to your Sound on Tape. Just as we practiced in class, you write your story and just give me the time code for the quote you will use from your interview. You should upload your story.
Component 5 – Record Your VO
1) Record your Voice Over that you have written. Upload your Voice Over.
