DIRECTIONS:
Normally, students have one hour and 15 minutes to write on the GWT essay topic. For the CPU 401 essays, you have until the Text Entry deadline to improve and submit your essay. Note: You do not need to complete the CPR Text Entry at one sitting.
1. Reread the topic a couple of times and note what it requires you to do. Make sure you complete all the tasks of the assignment.
This assignment will ask you to create your own essay topic involving a current event or editorial, based off of a newspaper article of your choosing.
2. Take a few minutes to review your handwritten essay: in general, reconsider the essay’s development and organization as well as any errors in grammar, syntax and punctuation.
3. Did you use specific evidence and concrete examples to support or illustrate your general points?
4. Allow yourself enough time after typing your draft to go back over your essay, proofread for errors and omissions, and make the necessary corrections.
5. The essay topic is designed to give you an opportunity to demonstrate your ability to write clearly and effectively. Perfection is not expected, but you should try to produce the best essay possible in the time allotted.

You are required to revise three of your original essays as part of your course portfolio.
