Consider a movie or television program whose plot focuses on human responses to a disaster event. You may also
consider a book you have read as well as media coverage (broadcast or written) of an actual event.

community levels. Based on the unit reading, were the responses depicted myths or realities?

How does the media and entertainment industry’s portrayal of myths, as well as the human tendency to believe them,
affect the response and efforts of the emergency management personnel?
As an emergency management professional, how can this knowledge of myths and realities of disaster response help
you in the future?
