The following topics are major influences in adult development…in today’s society, thus the reason they are your choice of topics. And your choices are:

1) Choose 2 health concerns of adulthood and write a 6-7 page paper which discusses: warning signs, symptoms, treatment strategies, prevention strategies, plus, how these health concerns may affect an adult’s work and family/peer relationships (without this component, your grade will be impacted). Also include organizations (local and national), which support each health concern you pick. Some examples are: asthma, diabetes, arthritic and rheumatism, hearth disease, bronchitis, nervous disorders (such as Parkinson’s), mental disorders (such as anxiety disorders), cancer, stroke.Site your references.

2)This paper is designed to show cross-cultural variations in ways that people of different cultures mourn and acknowledge the death of a loved one. You will turn in a 6-7 page paper which compares 3 cultures and address the way they mourn a loved one. The introduction should introduce a cross-cultural perspective on death and bereavement, the body should summarize the way the 3 cultures mourn, and the conclusion should offer a comparison of the rituals and celebrations of the 3 cultures. The term culture is used broadly and may be defined by various geographic regions of a country or by various religious groups.Site your references.

However, I would like you to write it as if you are talking to the person who is being abused, such as a counselor. In other words, don’t make it technical, make it personal. Look for books, journal articles, internet articles, and community agencies that can give you the following information: general information on the frequency of domestic violence and abuse in your area (statistics) as well as nation wide, the warning signs and characteristics of various types of abuse, any information you feel would benefit someone in this situation. Use any information you find interesting, and provide very specific information regarding where an adult in an abusive relationship can go for help and advice (providing more than just the name of a place). I specify adult because this could be a woman and/or a man who is being abused This paper should be 6-7 pages. Site your sources. 5) This paper is designed to acquaint you with the most recent data on mid-life crisis of men. You will want to look for psychological and medical articles concerning mid-life crisis and a search on the internet will give you lots of current information. Turn in a 6-7 page paper with the following information: introduce the topic of mid-life crisis (do they use the same definition? do  your sources give the same information?); does your information have scientific validation (?),  give characteristics of mid-life transitions (this includes, but is not limited to: age groupings and personality characteristics). Which factors do your sources discuss which direct a man toward life satisfaction ? Conclude with coping mechanisms (same, different?).
