For this assignment, you will be working on two parts: sampling procedure and measuring some of the factors/aspects involved in answering ONE of your three research questions from Research Assignment #1 (it is your choice which of your research questions you want to address for this assignment).
Part I: You will be developing a sampling procedure that you could use to obtain data to answer your research question. Youll design your sampling procedure as if you were planning to conduct either a survey or a series of in-depth interviews. Your first step is to determine your unit of analysis. Who or what will you be studying (e.g., individuals, couples, organizations, nation states)? Sampled population Who are you actually able to generalize to given your sampling frame? What consequences does that have for your study?
Part II: You will be working on conceptualizing, operationalizing, and measuring some of the factors/aspects involved in answering your research question.
Conceptualization: Select two concepts that would be involved in designing a research project aimed at answering your research question. Develop a definition for each concept.
Variables: For each of your concepts, come up with two variables you could use to measure it (a total of four variables). List the set of attributes associated with each of your variables. Be sure they are both exhaustive and mutually exclusive.
Levels of Measurement: For each of your variables, explain which of the four levels of measurement it is (nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio).
