Outcomes of Policy (3 pages) Research the professional literature for this section to find the intended and unintended consequences of the policy, not the social problem—a minimum of three different sources in the professional literature are required. Court cases are not professional literature nor are they research about the outcomes of the policy.
Legislative Intended Outcomes (.5- 1.0 page) What aspect(s) of social problem were expected to change when this policy was passed/enacted? What results were expected?
Affected Populations (1 page) Who is touched by the policy and in what manner? Use your critical thinking skills to address this.
Section 2 Social Work and the Policy—
This section must be substantive and specific—this section must be a minimum of two pages.
For this section of the assignment, you will discuss in narrative text your critical thinking about client systems and the social work profession as it relates to your social policy. This involves critically thinking about your policy and its congruence or lack of congruence with social work values, social work practice perspectives, clients, vulnerable populations, and the Code of Ethics.
Building on the findings included in the Outcomes of Policy (Section I), analyze and make suggestions for how this policy and/or its implementation should be changed in order to improve its outcomes. In other words, what do you think needs to be changed and how? Specifically, what recommendations flow from the research literature which you found?
