THE CASE:
Smart Airport Passenger Processing System (SAPPS) will replace the human administered: ID control, Airport check-in and boarding-pass processes. The new airport will have faster process timing and better security with SAPPS. The passenger will not interact with any officer at this new airport. Once SAPPS installed, the passenger will walk through a passage surrounded by cameras, microphones and other remote readers to do “ID control, Airport check-in and boarding-pass process” all at the same time
GIVEN : Logical decomposition of the work to be performed to have airport terminal with SAPPS.
It takes one week to determine how you are going integrate the new system into the current Airport system.
Once the decision for “how to integrate new system” done, then start on the construction/renovation new airport’s terminal for new IT System.
Once the decision for “how to integrate new system” done, then start on Designing the New IT System (Cameras, Fingerprint readers, RFID readers and the database) [ takes 3 weeks]
When the new IT system design done, then start training of the staff for the new system (Start with logical/lecture-type in a classroom and the do physical/hands training on when new system installed).
When the new IT system design done, then you would order the new system complements. it will take a week to find the vendor for the Hardware and software.
Once you place the order from the vendor, it takes 3 weeks to new equipment arrive in the local warehouse. You can not install the new system before the terminal’s construction/renovation completed.
New equipment cannot wait more than one week in the local warehouse. The warehouse has its deadline. The construction/renovation of the airport terminal must be completed before the warehouse deadline ends.
Install the new IT system in the new terminal [one week]. You cannot start installation before the construction was completed.
After the IT System instantiation done, do test run to make sure new IT system in the terminal works [one week]
After this stage, you would end the training of staff. This cannot be done before all test runs completed.
When the training of employees was completed, then deliver the systems to the Manager. And, then close the project. [ one week]
