She said he didn’t like some of his classmates at school because they didn’t share the crayons. Some of the things that made him happy were going on his tablet, going on walks with his father and getting a treat from McDonalds.High School Student (M, 14) This student explained how homework, specifically drawing for art class stressed her out because it’s time-consuming and she wants to perfect her drawings. Another thing that stressed her out was babysitting her little brothers after she got off school because her mother and father were at work. Also having her little brothers in her room stressed her out because they were loud and threw their toys everywhere. Her coping strategies were talking with her friends, playing games and seeing family at family gatherings. She said she would like more quiet time to cope with the loudness and help her draw more. For the most part, she said she is not that stressed and emphasized she was a loud, happy person.Senior-Citizen (T, 70) This woman said she had numerous stressors in her life. Some stressors among her daily life were caring for her two sons that had disabilities; one with Down syndrome and the other is a recovering drug addict. She explained how health related problems challenged her daily. One example was how her seventy-eight-year-old husband, one of her sons and she are dealing with diabetes. She said she is constantly checking glucose levels and calculating what insulin dosages to give to each of them. She said she wants to do more around the house and outside, like traveling and running, but her body and spirit isn’t the same. Other things that stressed her out was that she has to care for her sheep and cattle. She said driving fifth teen miles back and forth each day from her house to her ranch was a hassle for her. In addition, she stressed how little money they had and how difficult it is to support the family. Some of the coping strategies she used were making people laugh and talking to her ninety-five-year-old mother. She also liked to visit with her sisters and grandchildren. She loved family gatherings and going to the casino. However, her favorite coping activity was doing crossword puzzles with her husband late at night.Interview 3 individuals of different age groups from the list below (use only their first initial and age).
