I have decided to concentrate on U.S – Africa Relations, most especially growth, poverty reduction, and development in the West Africa region, beneficiary U.S initiative programs in other to develop the African continent. The research proposal is more of a development project on American Policy in Africa, Fundamentals of New Approach in U.S – Africa Relations, Promoting U.S Economic Relations with Africa, Transforming the U.S – Africa Commercial Relationship.
Apart from that, the choice of West Africa might be too big. Is there a case or case studies or a single policy initiative that we could used to test the hypothesis?
I strongly recommend the proposal is to perhaps hone in on a particular aspect of U.S trade and development policy in the region e.g. a specific “Aid for Trade” initiative? Or a new policy approach under UN SDGs? It might be worthwhile also thinking of a case study focus e.g. interviews in two or three West African countries to speak with business people/communities impacted by U.S policies? Usually case studies with interviews like these can help you provide original empirical evidence central to the thesis.
Please note:
