The project will consist of an analysis of two companies within a specific industry. The analysis will involve the marketing strategy of the two companies and the different approach each one is taking. The results will be provided via a 10-15 minute presentation using powerpoint or any other presentation technique desired.

• You will pick two companies from the list of industries mentioned below. Any two companies are acceptable but it is recommended to choose companies that are well established and public companies will have more information available to complete the analysis.
• Define each company’s marketing strategy:
o Target market
o The marketing mix (4 P’s) of each company and highlight differences in approach
o How the company builds a sustainable competitive advantage
• Perform a SWOT analysis on each company
• Highlight how each company is creating value through increasing benefits or reducing costs
• Identify any macroenvironmental factors effect these two companies and how they are / should approach them
• Explain how each company would market towards different generational cohorts
• Highlight the functional and psychological needs each company addresses
• Identify a segment that each company should be targeting to maximize sales. Clearly explain this segment, describe how the company can best target this consumer and how they should position against competition.
