Part 1 (Covers Course Objectives from Week 1–4)

Significant work has been completed over the past few weeks on the information technology (IT) Strategy Design document, which focused on performing the business impact assessment plan and includes the following:

• Describe the chosen organization and its Current IT Planning and Management Strategy, plus list the Problems Cited in the Current IT Planning Strategy (Week 1)
• Identify the Business Impact of Each Problem (Week 2)
• Technology Road Map for Company (Week 3)
• Information Security Strategy for Company (Week 4)

Part 2 Tasks (Covers New Topics/Objective(s) from Week 5)

For this assignment, you will add a section to your design document to discuss your chosen organization’s strategy for Data Management and Developing and Maintaining its IT Capability, along with completing the “250” Template as an Appendix. Finally, you will further refine the IT Strategy Design document to produce the final version. Updates may be based on peer and instructor feedback. This will include the following:

• Add a new section “IT Functions and Capabilities Strategy for Company” (Week 5)
• Discuss your company’s data management strategy, including collaboration and policies toward social media.
• Discuss your company’s strategy for developing and maintaining IT capabilities, to include such things as training, hiring, and contracting and/or outsourcing.
• Recommend what your company needs to do to address its data management and capability strategy gaps.

The 250 Template in Appendix A (Week 5)

To: Address the memo to a specific decision maker within the chosen organization.

• Discuss the problems with the current IT Planning and Management Strategy, and include issues with the TRM, ISS, and data management and capability development.
• Present your recommendations to address those issues.

Word Count: State your word count. The memo must not exceed 250 words.

The project deliverables are as follows:

• Update the IT Planning Strategy Design Document title page with a new date and project name.
• Update your previously completed sections based on instructor feedback.
• Complete the new section “IT Functions and Capabilities Strategy for Company.”
• In Appendix A, Complete the “250” Template as a memo to a specific decision maker within your chosen organization.
• Provide at least 2 references to support your research paper
• Your final project should include the following sections:
  • Describe the chosen organization and its Current IT Planning and Management Strategy, plus list the Problems Cited in the Current IT Planning Strategy (Week 1)
  • Identify the Business Impact of Each Problem (Week 2)
  • Technology Road Map for Company (Week 3)
