Please describe how you have prepared for your intended major, including your readiness to succeed in your upper-division courses once you enroll at the university.
Things to consider: How did your interest in your major develop? Do you have any experience related to your major outside the classroom — such as volunteer work, internships and employment, or participation in student organizations and activities? If you haven’t had experience in the field, consider including experience in the classroom. This may include working with faculty or doing research projects.
If you’re applying to multiple campuses with a different major at each campus, think about approaching the topic from a broader perspective, or find a common thread among the majors you’ve chosen.
Both of my parents are doctors of private ophthalmic hospital. There are more and more kids get in eyes problem, like amblyopia, myopia even glaucoma in current years. The age of people who lose their eyesight is smaller and smaller. For those eyes’ problem, they always have early symptom. But most of the parents did not pay attention, until their kids’ eyes get in big trouble. My parents did a lot of research on those early symptom. I wanted to help them collect and organize those cases, in order to summary the early symptom and reminding people pay more attention on their eyes. Also we are looking for the way which can cure those eyes problem. All the researches have to be supported by huge number of cases and experience. Since the experience on helping my parents do researches, and the Math 54( Statistic) which I took on Santa Monica College, I believe I will get success on the upper Statistic course at University of California.
1. Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time. On 2014 summer camp, we lived in an university dormitory. Jack , Justin and I made to joke to our another roommate Joe. We left a cup of water on the top of the door and hided on the next room. When Joe opened the door and walked in, the whole cup of water drop off. We were laughing at the next door, but Ben pasted by and laughed. Joe was so angry and thought Ben made a joke on him. Joe fought with Ben. We immediately jump out and stop this fighting.
In those couple day, I felt very guilty. And collect Jack and Justin together to discuss if we make apologized to them. But they afraid Joe would fight with them. I thought we did those, we should let Ben suffer the punishment. Finally I persuade Jack and Justin make an apologize to Joe and Ben.
Every person has a creative side, and it can be expressed in many ways: problem solving, original and innovative thinking, and artistically, to name a few. Describe how you express your creative side.
Things to consider: What does creativity mean to you? Do you have a creative skill that is important to you? What have you been able to do with that skill? If you used creativity to solve a problem, what was your solution? What are the steps you took to solve the problem?

I started played Chess at 8 years old. I like playing this game, because you can not win by luck. Every step is very important on the whole strategy. If you make one fault, you may fail at the end. As many people know, Chess is similar to the board game Go, they have a lot of strategies. Some people believe if you remember all the strategies, you always win, like AlphaGo. But human creative are unlimited.
I won a annual Chess game at 10th grade. I used basic strategy-Smothered checkmate at the beginning, that help me confused my opponent. When he thought he caught my mind, I added new step at the end, change the whole situation. Finally, I struck back and won.
What have you done to make your school or your community a better place?
Things to consider: Think of community as a term that can encompass a group, team or a place – like your high school, hometown, or home. You can define community as you see fit, just make sure you talk about your role in that community. Was there a problem that you wanted to fix in your community?
Why were you inspired to act? What did you learn from your effort? How did your actions benefit others, the wider community or both? Did you work alone or with others to initiate change in your community?
When I was 11th grade, we went to an orphanage at Xi’an once a week. We bring a lot of books donated by our classmates. We read the book to them, even some of kids were very afraid of us. But we kept go there,read the book and talked with them. Finally they started be willing to communicate with us.
Those kids lose the love from their parents. Although we can not replace their parents. We still try our best to make those kids’ life be warm.
