The topics are:

1.    Effective Business Communication    Talk about facts, emails and verbal communication In the workplace.
This is an analysis of the principles of persuasive communication, both written and spoken.  Students will examine the techniques of business report writing “Good

News” and “Bad news” letters, and business correspondence, how to give an oral presentation or speech, and also examine the characteristics of non-verbal

communication.  Paper required.

2.    Creative Problem Solving –  Define a problem and what input you had to resolve it.
This course analyzes the ways in which people in organizational structures learn to deal
With ambiguity, confusion, and disorder and to solve both simple and complex problems.

3.    Cultural Diversity in the Workplace   How do you balance being sensitive to cultural background and how you work around it.

The American workplace is being transformed by an unprecedented influx of multicultural diversity with differences in gender, age, ethnicity, language, race, and

physical ability.  This course attempts to provide a framework wherein individuals may begin to develop an awareness of the skills needed
to build bridges between diverse groups.

4.    Human Behavior in Complex Social Organization. Talk about the Merger between North Shore and Long Island Jewish Hospital.
This course examines various theories of learning, motivation, and group behavior.
Students will study organization theory and management functions as related to private
and public organizations.  Emphasis is placed on understanding organization theory as applied to management process.
