organization and process goals established in earlier phases of the project. This is a critical step

in the BPM project. In this Assignment, you will explore the risks associated with not carrying

out these steps properly and you will examine which types of leaders are best suited to lead this

process.

For this Assignment, write a 4–6 page paper (double spaced, not including title page or

references) that answers the following questions (use the subheadings/numbered questions

below to organize your paper):

Question 1 – Risk analysis

Which of the 10 steps that the book recommends for the people phase do you think is most

critical for your BPM project?

1. Explain the importance of the step for your selected process. Be specific to your

situation; do not describe the significance of the step in general terms.

2. Justify your answer by stating what risks will arise if the step you identified is not carried

out properly.

3. Explain what measures you will take to implement this step properly and mitigate these

risks in your project.

Do not talk in generalities. Make sure you are specific about both the risks and the measures as

they apply to your selected process.

Leadership is an important facet of utilizing the Business Process Model, particularly within the

people phase. Identifying the “type” of leader that will manage and direct the new process or

process change after BPM completion is necessary to ensure success. There has been quite a

academic articles that discuss “Leadership types” and answer the following questions based on

your reading:

1. Currently, which types of leaders are involved in the execution and management of this

process? Do you think that their specific type of leadership is working well?

2. Choose three types of leaders from your research and discuss both their pros and cons

with respect to the process you have selected and the circumstances within the

organization.

3. Which type of leader would be best suited to lead your BPM project? Justify your answer

by analyzing the specifics demands of your situation. Do not automatically assume that the “democratic leader” is best—depending on the situation a democratic leader may

only cause chaos and anxiety.
