Response to Megan Brunner essay
I totally agree with your view that the film and the novel were overwhelmingly romantic even though they did not exclude other scenes but insignificant compared to the romantic plots. I also concur with you on the issue of more interactions among the characters in the movie however, their age is less insignificant as long as they were able to amicably execute their parts in the movie.
Response to Stefanie Hoffman essay
I explicitly concur with your thoughts on Kaplans reading about Ang Lee film, that the romantic relationships in the novel supersedes the cast in the movie as well as the influence of social gathering was not succinctly portrayed in the movie as in the novel. Moreover, I also concur with you that some of the scenes were omitted from the movie.
Response to Laura Jones essay
Although I chose to argue the opposite, I absolutely agree with your stance as well on the matter of the novel and film been overwhelmingly romantic even though there were other events that are important that took place in the movie but less significant compared to the movies romantic plots. I also concur with you that the cast was undoubtedly fantastic even though it presented a condensed form of the novel.
Response to Corynn Evans essay
Your view of Kaplans reading on the Ang Lee film is undoubtedly mixed. However, it is true that some scenes in the film were overacted mainly to attract more audience but not merely done for commercial purposes. However, despite the film been entirely romantic there are also other scenes hence not zeroing to romance excluding everything else.
Response to Jessica Potts essay
While I disagree with you on the issue of commercializing the film in order to be appealing to more audience I also agree with your thoughts concerning the film providing a new perspective towards the novel. Moreover, I also agree with you that some actors past roles haunted some characters in the film.
