1. You are to submit a Request for Proposal (RFP). The RFP shall be for goods or services that you are seeking. Ideally, the goods or services should be something that is related to your major or is relevant to it. However, if you cannot think of anything that is related to your major or relevant to you, you can request goods or services of any kind. You may not post an advertisement seeking to hire someone as your employee – however you may seek the services of a contractor on a contract basis, and you need to specify that they will be a contractor – not an employee.
2. You are to submit a pre-announcement of your RFP by posting it to the Discussion page on the class D2L site. A Forum has been created on the Discussion page entitled “Requests for Proposals”. Beneath that is a Topic area entitled “Requests for Proposals”. Click on this and in the upper left had corner of the resulting page will be a button entitled “compose”. Click on it. A dialog box will appear. Type in your name and 1-3 words describing your RFP in the subject line. Then put a 1-3 sentence description of your RFP in the main message.
This is to be done before Friday, March 24 at 2:40pm
3. I’ll review your topic and if it isn’t acceptable I’ll delete it and you’ll have to start again. I don’t expect to disapprove any topics, but I’m not making any promises.
4. In assignments 9 & 10, every student will be assigned the task of submitting proposals in response to two RFP’s They will select the RFP’s to submit proposals for by replying to the posting you made on the Discussion page. This is to be done by Wednesday March 29 at 2:40pm. No more than two students will be allowed to submit proposals in response to any RFP. The first two students who respond to a posting will get that RFP. They will not be allowed to change their mind after they reply to a posting on the discussion page.
5. You are required to submit your RFP to me electronically, by placing it in the dropbox for “Assignment 8”. You are also required to send a copy of it as an email attachment to the two students who are assigned to respond to your RFP. You can find out who they are by checking the discussion thread for your RFP and you can get their email addresses by using the “classlist” tab on the class D2L site.
You are to submit your written Request for Proposal (RFP) to me and to the two students by Monday, April 3 at 2:40pm.
