1,000 words per essay (3-4 pages) in 12 point Times New Roman
Since your essay requires at least two sources (one primary and one secondary source), follow strict MLA format for in-text citations and works cited. Do NOT use Wikipedia or any dictionaries.
Essay evaluations will be based upon how well you recognize the utilization of various *literary devices that a poet uses to express himself/herself on a particular subject or theme.
Include several quotes (3-4 per paragraph)* that illustrate how the literary devices you’ve chosen express the poet’s subject matter or theme.
Additional consideration will be given to overall essay writing skills, such as effective introduction (well-focused thesis), organization, developmental coherence of your essay, plus mechanics and grammar.
