Some of the higher-level positions in our organization’s supply chain management works in Naval Supply headquarters that oversees Financial Improvement Audit Readiness support, inventory policy and accuracy, local requisition process, management and configuration of warehouses, receipt management, quality and deficiency management. Code N3, a sub function of NAVSUP is the Logistics Operation Center that works in conjunction with outside stakeholders on long-term supply chain projects to sustain and improve operational readiness. Due to the unique nature of our organization the Navy supply chain has many independent sections that has impactful influences on major decisions. Add to that the high turnover of leadership in higher level positions affecting changes and updates on major decisions. If I came in as a consultant, I would recommend a more transparent view of NAVSUP’s supply chain management to processes, responsibilities and its other elements down to the working.
