29 Jul Test 1 Review Guide
Work on the charts below to better prepare yourself for the Test.
The tables/charts contain all crucial issues and secure a “must know” minimum.
No need to say that you will be better off if you review the guides and know more to secure a really good performance. Yet, if you know the minimum that is in the charts –a good performance is guaranteed.
The first test will focuses on Prehistoric, Mesopotamian and Egyptian and Aegean art.
All the material is in your guides.
There will be some other questions, besides this minimum, like the Key Terms.
At the same time there will be no “surprises” – nothing that is not in your guides.
Some questions will make you think – but there are no trick questions.
This is how I would recommend you to work on the charts:
· Review your guides while observing pictures in the book (before starting this assignment).
· Fill in the following charts as much as possible from memory (this part is really important!)
· Then check your answers against the guides & book and complete the charts.
You may want to print the blank tables and fill them in pencil – maybe even a couple of times to make sure you know the material.
ATTN: I will not be checking the answers in these charts since all the info is in your book and guides.
They are designed to assist you in summing up the information you have learned.

TIMELINES
It would be very helpful if you draw Timeline and put these periods on it.
The more you play with the timelines the better – Practice…practice…practice…
I will provide you here with very simple time frames. Please also refer to the timelines in your guides.

On the test I will ask you to identify Artworks .
This means that you will have to:
To recognize what it is (you do not have to remember the exact wording of the title)
To identify the culture (or style/period) which produced this work
To say approximate dates – I won’t ask you to remember all the exact dates. For this test knowing the millennia will work.
For example, I do not expect you to remember that the Great Pyramids at Giza were built c. 2551 -2475 BCE.
If you tell me that they were erected in the third millennium BC, I will be perfectly satisfied with your answer.
Great Pyramids at Giza: Egypt – Old Kingdom – 3rd millennium B.C.
Practice to build this type of “chain of associations” for each work that I place in the table (below)
Please open your textbook and have your guides before you

So, how was your check? Could you envision these art works when you read their titles?
Could you answer correctly where and when they had been done?
I expect you to remember millennia and be able to translate dates (the exact dates will not be asked on the test).
