The essay is intended to depict the bible story of God calling Moses in Exodus 3, 4, and 6. We are to identify what authors wrote which verses and the reason why we think that. Also, we are to redact the passages. Redaction is what occurs when you put both authors and their interpretation of the passages together and how does the general meaning or significance of the bible change. I have attached the file for the instructions for the essay, as well as my class notes. In the notes, I include the general characteristic of the authors J, P, and E and R which means redaction. On the following attachments of the notes, I include several examples the professor gave in class on examples on how to interpret passages from the authors and what happens after redaction. Finally, I attached the book we are to cite as well with the bible passages, which is the book Who Wrote the Bible by Richard Elliot Friedman. The book talks about the authors J, E, and P and the characteristics they have detailing why and how they wrote in the bible. Along with citing the bible passages/verses, we are to cite meaning from the book as well, with evidence from the book how we got to certain conclusions. On the last note attachment is a general guideline on how the essay should be structured with the Intro, Body, and Conclusion.
