1. (21 points) The following table provides the data showing cell growth results obtained from a simple batch culture growth experiment. The bacterium Staphylococcus epidermidis was inoculated into 1 liter of culture medium and incubated at 37 °C for 24 hours. You are growing the S. epidermidis at its optimal temperature, 37°C in a nutrient medium at the optimal pH of 7.0. Cell numbers in the form of colony forming units (CFU/ml) were periodically determined. The results for the first 15 hours of the experiment are shown below in table 1.
