The pregnancy discrimination act is an amendment which prohibits sex discrimination on the bases of pregnancy, childbirth, or medical related conditions. Additional or deductible payment cannot be imposed by the insurance. The health benefits given to employees must be the same. Spouses from male employees and those from female employees must receive the same level of health benefits.
